Looks like the sun had an active weekend. There was a C3 flare plus other eruptions yesterday,1 Aug 2010. The spacewether.com site said “In short,we have just witnessed a complex global eruption involving almost the entire Earth-facing side of the sun.” With a CME is heading our way there might be a chance [...] According to BBC news low solar activity has been found to produce colder European winters. Research published in the journal ‘Environmental Research Letters’ “…identified a link between fewer sunspots and atmospheric conditions that “block”warm,westerly winds reaching Europe during winter months.” Evidently there is a correlation between low sun spot activity and cold winters [...] | ||
